The Mountain Lion Hunter of Chelan

A local hunter brings in a massive cougar as regional reports note the predator is terrorizing the deer population.

The story, cleaned up

A cleaned-up reading of the newspaper page: spelling and layout repaired, one story lifted off a crowded page. It follows the original closely but it is not a transcription. The original page is below; read it if a detail matters.

Chelan, Jan. 31. Joseph Graham came down the lake last Thursday, bringing a cougar which he had killed, and which weighed 140 pounds and measured eight and a half feet from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. These animals are very numerous this winter, and it is stated that they are killing a large number of deer.
