Following his departure from the state penitentiary, Warden Catron purchases the prestigious Hotel Dacres, preparing to take ownership in July.

The story, cleaned up

A cleaned-up reading of the newspaper page: spelling and layout repaired, one story lifted off a crowded page. It follows the original closely but it is not a transcription. The original page is below; read it if a detail matters.

Ex-Warden Catron of the state penitentiary last night completed the purchase of the Hotel Dacres from Mr. and Mrs. Simon. The new hotel was erected several years ago and has been considered one of the finest hotel properties in the northwest. Mr. Catron will assume charge of the business July 15, and Mr. and Mrs. Simon will leave Walla Walla for a pleasure trip of several months to enjoy a well-earned vacation. Leo Kosminsky, the popular day clerk, will retain the position under the new management.

“Considered one of the finest hotel properties in the northwest, has been under consideration ever since Mr. Catron left the penitentiary.”
