Northern Pacific Halts Rail Expansion

Heavy winter rains force a suspension of railroad construction, leaving only the South Aberdeen bridge and track projects active.

Orders have been issued for all depot and railroad construction work to be suspended by the Northern Pacific until after the rainy season. The force on the Chehalis river bridge will continue at work until the bridge is finished, and the track in and around South Aberdeen will be ballasted, in order that trains may be run into Aberdeen on that side as soon as the work is finished.
