Fatal Salutation at Port Ludlow

A celebratory salute on the Fourth of July ends in tragedy.

We learn that two men were seriously injured at Port Ludlow while engaged in firing a salute on the 4th inst., by the premature discharge of the gun. One of the men has since died; the other, who is a brother of Sheriff Mozie of this county, has been brought to this place. His injuries are frightful, but it is hoped he will recover.

“His injuries are frightful, but it is hoped he will recover.”
