The story, cleaned up

A cleaned-up reading of the newspaper page: spelling and layout repaired, one story lifted off a crowded page. It follows the original closely but it is not a transcription. The original page is below; read it if a detail matters.

Steven Mitchell has brought suit in the superior court against the city of Tacoma for $1,800 damages. On April 4, while walking on the sidewalk between the Washington Match company's building and the St. Paul mill, he alleges he was hurt through a defect in the sidewalk. The plaintiff also alleges that within 30 days after the time of the injury he presented his claim to the city.
