The Clover Leaf Lodge celebrates a milestone, clearing their mortgage and securing their Masonic Temple.

Clover Leaf Lodge, F. & A. M., of South Tacoma, celebrated the liquidation of its mortgage indebtedness last night, and the mortgage, which has been fully paid and satisfied, was burned with ceremony. Mortgage burning ceremonies were once common milestones for community organizations, marking the transition from indebted survival to institutional stability. In modern Tacoma, where property values often preclude such long-term community ownership, the permanent securing of a local landmark remains a rare and significant civic victory.
