The Perils of the Prairie: A Horse Entanglement

A young farmhand near Union Flat narrowly escapes tragedy after being dragged nearly half a mile by a spooked horse.

Quite a curious accident happened to a Mr. Anderson, a young man working for Mr. Hubbard of Union Flat, last week. He was handling a young horse and in some way his leg became entangled in the rope and the animal dragged him, as eye witness Hubbard says, nearly one-half mile before he could extricate himself. The young man's leg was badly bruised, and it is feared he is hurt internally.

“In some way his leg became entangled in the rope and the animal dragged him... nearly one-half mile before he could extricate himself.”
