Fire Destroys Home in Loomis

A local family lost their home to fire, triggering a massive show of support from the generous Loomis community.

Last Saturday afternoon fire totally destroyed the home of Robt. Garrett, a couple of miles south of town. Although the fire occurred in the daytime and the family were on the premises, nothing was saved except a few bedcloths. With the usual generosity that has always marked the people of Loomis as the most liberal in this upper country, a large purse was raised for the unfortunate family.
