Representatives of the Spokane Fruit Growers company met with the local growers Wednesday evening at the high school building. The company had signed up enough of the Hanford growers to warrant them in establishing a unit here and a board of trustees, to serve for the ensuing year, was elected as follows: Manley B. Haynes, chairman, B. C. Root, secretary, Dr. W. F. Morrison, Curtis Rolph and Charles M. Sanford. It is claimed the Spokane Fruit Growers company will handle between 75 and 90 per cent of the Hanford fruit this year. The company is perfecting plans for the immediate erection of an immense packing shed and warehouse here, through which the fruit will be handled.
