Tragedy in a Tacoma Sewer Ditch

A team of horses and a wagon are discovered floundering in a construction trench, with fears for the driver's life.

At 1 o'clock this morning, a team of horses and an express wagon were found trapped in the bottom of a sewer ditch at the intersection of Q and Eighth streets in Tacoma. The horses were found severely injured, and there is grave concern that the driver was thrown beneath them and may have been killed in the accident.

“The horses are fine bays, and are kicking each other to death.”
