A Wedding and a Banquet in the Valley

Society news from North Yakima, featuring a secret wedding and a mayoral banquet.

The banquet at Steine's by Mayor Whitson to the council retiring with him, and also to the incoming mayor and council, was a nice, graceful compliment. If there is one thing that can always be relied upon to give all the pleasure anticipated here in Yakima, it is a banquet. There was some effort to keep the matter quiet, but it is now out that Mr. B. B. Milroy was married on Tuesday morning to Miss Lena Whitson, at the home of her mother, near Albany, Oregon. The bride will come among many friends made while she was here a year ago on a visit to her uncle, Mayor Whitson; and she will come to one of the loveliest homes in the valley, that has been prepared for the newly married couple on the Milroy ranch, west of town. It is now fresh and new, with new furnishings, and the clover grows green as it does nowhere elsewhere. It is an ideal and idyllic spot to take a bride.

“It is an ideal and idyllic spot to take a bride.”
