The county commissioners will meet on the 28th inst., when action will be taken regarding the disaster which has befallen the Moxee bridge. District Attorney Snively has been summoning witnesses and taking testimony, and the result is that there is a prospect of the Pacific Bridge company being sued for damages. It is claimed that the Pacific Bridge company, the contractors and builders of the bridge, failed to comply with the specifications with regard to the piers, and that by this failure the loss was incurred.
“It is claimed that the Pacific Bridge company... failed to comply with the specifications.”
Infrastructure failures and subsequent litigation against contractors are evergreen issues in Yakima County, where geography and seasonal changes keep civil engineers on their toes.
