H.H. Light Offers First-Class Lodging at Riverside Hotel

Under new management, a classic local establishment promises a 'first class' experience for weary travelers in the Washington Territory.

Riverside Hotel, Snohomish City, Washington Territory. H. H. Light, having recently leased this convenient and well-known hotel building for a term of years and refitted it in good style, begs leave to inform the community that they are now prepared to accommodate the public. They propose keeping a strictly first-class hotel. The table will be supplied with the best the market affords. First quality of wines, liquors, and cigars always on hand. Every attention will be shown for the convenience of the patrons of this house.

“They propose keeping a strictly first-class hotel.”

The Riverside Hotel speaks to the long-standing role of hospitality businesses in anchoring Snohomish’s riverfront economy. Today, the town remains a destination for visitors, though the focus has shifted from local liquors and lodging to the historic preservation of the downtown core that these early entrepreneurs helped build.
